Media and authority-linked reporting say Ghanaian health authorities declared a yellow fever outbreak in Upper West Region in early October 2026. Wa West and Sissala West are the places most clearly linked to confirmed infection, and the response also covers Sissala East. Media report 3 confirmed cases and 3 deaths, both unverified. Suspected-case figures are unsettled: media reports cite 74 or 88 in Upper West, and 450 nationally since June, all unverified, while no outbreak-specific WHO notice or directly fetched Ghana government bulletin was available as of 15 October. Authorities reportedly activated national and regional emergency operations centres, deployed rapid response teams for case finding, surveillance and risk communication, and began a reactive vaccination campaign in Wa West, Sissala East and Sissala West from 14 October to 18 October targeting about 244,869 people.
